We know that you probably have
a lot of questions regarding physical therapy, and
how we can help you recover from your injury. We want
to make sure that all of your questions are answered
prior to starting your therapy program. Hopefully
the following list will answer your questions. Please
do not hesitate to contact us with additional questions
by phone: (717)840-1874.
How do I get started?
Just call us to make an appointment. We will take your insurance information and review what you will need to bring to your first appointment. Our staff will take care of verifying your coverage and set up a convenient appointment time. Typically, we can see you within 24 hours of your call. We don't think you should wait two weeks before you can start the road to recovery.
What will I need for my first appointment?
Please bring the physician referral for physical therapy and your insurance card. Make sure you dress in loose, comfortable clothes to allow the PT access to the injured area. We do have private treatment rooms and gowns. If you have operative reports, X-ray and/or MRI results you can bring them but are not always necessary.
What should I expect on my first visit?
Upon arrival at our office, you will be asked to fill out some basic paperwork. The Physical Therapist will perform a comprehensive evaluation of your injury. Based on physician's diagnosis, our prognosis, and your personal goals, the therapist will create an individual treatment plan for you. You will receive treatment and home exercises on your first visit. Future appointments will also be scheduled.
How often will I need to attend physical therapy?
Most patients are treated two to three times per week. The total duration of physical therapy will depend on the severity of your injury. The more committed you are to your recovery (you come to scheduled appointments and perform your home exercises), the more likely you are to recover faster. We offer morning and evening appointments to enable you to fit PT into your busy schedule.
How long will each appointment take?
Each visit is approximately one hour in duration, but time depends on your diagnosis. During each visit, you will spend time with your physical therapist receiving the individualized treatment (as determined during your evaluation) to address any questions you may have and to progress you through your program. At Advantage you will always have personal contact and not be left with just a clipboard.
What insurances do you accept?
You can see a complete list of accepted insurances under our insurance page. If you don't happen to see your insurance carrier listed, please call us at (717)840-1874. We are constantly working on becoming a preferred provider with as many insurances as possible, to grant access to our services throughout the community.
