It is a little known fact that grapes are actually considered to be berries! These berries have many health grape-clusterbenefits. Grapes have antioxidants that may slow or prevent certain types of cancer. They have also been shown to reduce blood pressure, and lower the risk of heart disease. Due to their high water and fiber content, grapes may also help with constipation. Grapes also have anti-inflammatory effects that may reduce symptoms of allergies. A few studies have even shown that grapes may help decrease the symptoms of poorly controlled diabetes.
There are many ways to reap the health benefits of grapes. You can choose from seeded or seedless, to red, green or purple grapes. You can also get the benefits from grape jelly, grape jam, grape jelly, and wine. (Just look out for the added ingredients!) Also, don’t forget about raisins! When drinking wine to reap it’s health benefits, drink no more than one drink per day for women or two drinks per day for men. Also, it is important to note that the famous antioxidant, resveratrol, is only found in red wine, not white.
